Rylie, a shy coffee shop owner and romance book addict, had a great life. She had hundreds of boyfriends from the pages of the books she reads. But a real life tall dark and handsome was missing. Enter Dream Boat Jax and her life turns into the stories from her daily reads. But just as her books had hot steamy romance they also had drama, secrets and misunderstandings. I loved so many things about this book. Rylie was a book lover like me. She fan girled over authors at a book signing (maybe even my very favorite author, too). She was independent, not perfect and lived a pretty normal life. Jax was the handsome, hot guy who fell for Rylie. Yes, that sounds like the perfect romance story. Yes, I was able to predict some of the surprises. But you know what? That was great!!!! I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book and wanted to know more about the characters when the book ended. That made it a great read for me!

Excerpt One 

“You’re not driving,” he growls. What’s with all the growling?

Now I’m pissed. I take an unlady like stumble back and cross my arms, hoisting up my lady’s. “Now, look here, Mister – Mister –Ugh! Whoever you are. I’m perfectly capable of driving my car. And, what’s with all the growling? Who pissed in your post toasties?” Post Toasties. Cereal. Food. My stomach grumbles and bile rises to the base of my throat. I slap myself hard by covering my mouth with my hand, the feel of beads of sweat covering my forehead. “I’m gonna be sick,” I mutter into my hand.

“What?” His eyes widen as he stares at my hand covering my mouth.

“I said I’m gonna be sick,” I yell into my hand then feel the bile rising further into my throat. I dry heave and start to bend over.

“Fucking hell,” he growls as he runs behind me, lifts me into the air and carries me over to the bushes on the other side of the front steps of the bar.

Excerpt Two 

Shots.

Dancing.

Hot mystery man.

Gorgeous in every sense of the word.

Throwing up in beautiful shrubbery. I scrunch my nose at that memory.

Being carried.

Told I smelled.

Oh. My. God! He saw me naked!

“I saw you in a dream,” he whispers. “A vision. We were just like this only, it was raining. It’s when I first saw you, when I knew you’d come for me.” My brows lower in confusion. He focuses in on my eyes and smiles. “You see. I’ve loved you far longer than before I met you. You saved me.” I search his eyes, not understanding, but his words wash over me, envelope me in his love. Cupping the back of his neck, I bring his lips to mine.

My brows furrow with his words. Do I know him? I step back and watch his eyes close slowly. I don’t remember ever seeing him before. He sleeps peacefully as I rack my brain. I couldn’t know him. Now, I’m wondering how I can be thinking this way when the man is so injured, nearly losing his life, and obviously someone I shouldn’t want to be with. This was my first book from Vicki Green and I am so glad I was able to get an ARC! The story sucked me from page two! Smoking holy hotness on Dax! (*fans self*) He might appear to be a bad boy, but he has a heart of gold. And Saige was not push over even after all the heart ache she went through. Together they were a perfect book couple for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading more of Vicki's work. (This ARC was kindly provided in return for an honest review.)
